This computerized world Essay Example for Free
This computerized world Essay Now, in our society all over the world technology is the most important advancement, a necessity in bringing about progress as we move along in this computerized world. These changes in effectmake manââ¬â¢s life easier and more convenient. The relationship between the library and computer is constantly changing that the use of computer contributes to the way man learns and communicates. It easy in this world to strive for changes and since library is no different from any firm and institution, considering the use of computer to perform a given task will be efficient. The fast phased of technology attributed a lot to the improvementof the library system. Technology enabled software developers to computerize the librarysystem. The automated library system helped the academe greatly. Library, transactionsand queries can be created in a single click. Traditionally, library systems are implemented manually. Forms are given to librarian and they fill them of using pens. Computerized library system identifies the modern process of technology, on how it works quickly for the students and librarian. Pagadian Capitol College, base on the library system, the librarian and the library users still use the manual way of transacting of borrowing and returning of books. In the system we are going to make the manual library system into automated and computerized one. The manual library system is very costly, time consuming and tedious. Hence, computerized library system, the librarian can easily find the books of the student that they are looking for without going through the traditional way of searching a library material. And for the students, it can lessen the time and effort needed by them of the library. The implementation of the system will reduce the time and effort of the users in terms of adding, editing, searching, deleting and printing of records. The system can also help in reducing the expenses of the library such as papers, folders, pens and other materials needed in their current system. The objective of the study was to develop a computerized library system that will store the studentââ¬â¢s basic information, books record, list of borrowers, returned books, borrowed books, and prescription of the librarian. The study was about the Computerized Library System for the BotolanCommunity College. The implementation of the system will reduce the time and effort of the users in terms of adding, editing, searching, deleting and printing of records. Thesystem can also help in reducing the expenses of the library such as papers, folders, pensand other materials needed in their current system. The system is LAN-based that enablesthe librarian to share the records of the student such as the borrowing books, returningbooks, search books, and prescriptions of the librarian. The studentââ¬â¢s personal information/data may be stored upon the request of authorized librarian. The assignedlibrarians are the only one who can share any of the records/data of the students. Thesystem is not capable of sharing its data from other databases. The system will bedeveloped using the Microsoft Visual Basic 6. 0. This study will be beneficial to the following: BCC Students . Through a computerized library system, they can easily find the booksthat they are looking for without going through the traditional way of searching a librarymaterial. Convenience is more visible for it is not time-consuming, resulting to a numberof accomplished works. Librarian. The computerized library system would improve the monitoring capacitiesof those who maintain the library. It would be easier to determine whether a particularbook is on-shelf or not. In addition, they can easily identify when will the borrowedmaterial be returned and if a borrower has failed to return the book on its due date. Furthermore, the librarian would be much guided when it comes to recognizing newinventory books, letting them arrange it promptly and accordingly. Related Literature Foreign According to Robson (2001), usability is a key requirement for users, says Elisabeth Robson, Product manager for Online Computer Library Center. The cataloguehas become a way to pull together disparate resources, including commercial resourcesand web links. management systems also allow circulation, including check in/check outand enable libraries to purchase materials and track where they are. According to Chad (2009), consulting is at a major point of change in the wider information economy within which library systems form part of a larger whole. He waswriting in a briefing paper about the study in library management systems. This studyexamined the systems used in higher-education libraries across the UK and came up withsome significant observations and recommendations. It noted that the LMS market in UKhigher education is already mature and that four main vendors (ExLibris, Innovative,SirsiDynix and Talis) have almost 90 percent of the market. This market maturity means, according to the study authors, that the benefits to libraries of changing LMS provider arelimited. Library users expect to find everything together says Stephen Abram, vicepresident for innovation at SirsiDynix, the leading provider of software solutions andassociated services for libraries. According to her traditionally, the library managementsystem or integrated library system (ILS) was responsible for running libraries efficientlyand effectively. Over the last few years, the role of the ILS has been expanding frommeeting library needs to delivering user experience. Localà According to Eden (2011), views that most libraries are forced to work with fewerstaff because of the having a more improved and modernized system for their library. According also to the study, the library administration need to emphasize to their staff that the organization has a vested interest in providing them with the tools and trainingthey need to assist the organization in the new information marketplace. These mayinclude search engines, circulation systems, and the online public access catalog. According to Lopez (2002), University of the Philippines Mindanao when UP inMindanao accepted its first batch of students in 1996, the Main Library collection wasintegrated with the core collection of the School of Management (SOM) Library at the Stanfilco Bldg. , Ladislawa Avenue, Buhangin, Davao City. The Filipiniana and GeneralReferences were housed together with the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) collectionin Room 2 of the Philippine Coconut Authority. In the Second Semester AY 1996-1997,the CAS Library moved to its main campus in Bago Oshiro. Upon the recognition of UPin Mindanao by the Board of Regents (BOR) as a constituent unit (CU) of the UPSystem, the CAS was split into two (2), namely: College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) and the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM). The Main Librarytransferred to the newly renovated building where the main collection was set-up besidethe books of the CHSS and the CSM. In July 2002, the library established the LibraryEducational Media and Information Technology Office (LEMITO). The LEMITOhandles the audio-visual services, internet and the connectivity of the library. It currentlyholds office at the Elias B. Lopez Hall Dormitory. Later, the Main Library collectionwhich grew from 100 titles to 6,191 volumes at the end of May 2004, and was transferredto the Administration Bldg today, the Main Library occupies the former UP in MindanaoCultural Center (UPMCC) building. Related Studies Foreign According to Charuasia (2010), connotes the term library with use of automaticdata processing machines to perform routine library activities. It implies a high degree of mechanization of various routine and repetitive tasks operations and processes are leftto be performed by human beings. The study stresses library automation as theapplication of computers and utilization of computer based products and services in theperformance of different operations and functions or in the provision of various servicesand output products. In addition to computer advancement, telecommunication andaudio-visual technologies gives away to new possibilities in information processing. According to Back Bailey (2010), explored the design space of mash-uptechniques for the faultless inclusion of information from Web services into websites. This low entry cost, combined with theprovision of a high-level, non-programming interface, constitute two vital preconditionfor the broad adoption of techniques in libraries, which in turn has the potential to vastlyincrease the reach and visibility of their electronic resources in the wider community. Local According to Lou (1986), a survey on the computer application in 223 libraries inMetro Manila. The study revealed that they prioritize the three library functions to be computerized as cataloging, indexing, and circulation. However, the plans for automationfor the libraries cannot be implemented due to financial incapability of the libraries, andthe lack of funds from the government. Despite of this drawback, the libraries are notturning their backs unto the automation of their libraries. According to Agena (2008) made a study about the collection usage of thestudents of the Jose Rizal University in a period of three years using the quantitative andqualitative approach. The goal of the study is to assess the usefulness of the faculty of students to their library and it been revealed that it is generally important for them to goto the library for their academic needs. - Beijing Foreign Studies University Library Library temporarily by the Chinese branch, foreign language books, periodicals reading room and library office. Limited Government :: Persuasive, The Constitution
In the previous week I agreed with the philosophy of originalism and felt that the Founding Fathers had created a timeless framework for our government in the Constitution. They certainly did not expect the ââ¬Å"modern governmentâ⬠we have now to get past their carefully worded Constitution. I do believe they thought they had protected us and were right in their mistrust of the government and the loss of individual freedom which comes with its growth. The Founders aim in the Constitution was to declare their reasons for independence and show the choice of government they chose over the large unresponsive English Government (Pilon, Page 259). Pilon further explains the only reason to have government is to keep the rights it is bound to protect. Our right to individual ââ¬Å"pursuit of happinessâ⬠is perhaps our own idea of utopia. Kristol (Page 299) suggests this crisis of modernity ââ¬Å"will require new ideas ââ¬â or new versions of old ideasâ⬠, We are guaranteed this right of individual pursuit in the Declaration of Independence - as long as our pursuit does not harm or obstruct anotherââ¬â¢s pursuit. David Boaz (American Vision and Values, Page 86) expressed clearly, ââ¬Å"the Americans sought to devise a constitution that would limit the governmentâ⬠¦..to make it clear that the Constitution was not a general grant of power to the governmentâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ . I believe Ronald Reagan spoke for us all in his Message to Washington, February 20, 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAwAY0LH9hg&feature=related) ââ¬Å"Our Constitution is a document in which we the people tell the government what it is allowed to do. We the people are free.â⬠Government seemed to maintain a path consistent with the Constitution until the period 1890s to 1920s ââ¬â known as the Progressive Era. This era happened to be about the same time as Rooseveltââ¬â¢s New Deal, but it is not directly related. The creation of a ââ¬Å"fourth branchâ⬠of government seemed to appear with the Administrative Branch. The bureaucracy did not really create another branch of government, but did implement agencies which were to oversee legislation and ââ¬Å"empowered it with broad governing authorityâ⬠(Pestritto, Page 203). Machiavelli (The Prince, Page 229) speaks at length using the term ââ¬Å"Princeâ⬠to explain how to acquire and maintain political power, ââ¬Å"Therefore it is unnecessary for a prince to have all the good qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them.

response to shrek the movie :: essays research papers
Film Response à à à à à Itââ¬â¢s always hard to pick a single favorite movie, because there are so many good ones. If I had to pick a favorite it would be a toss up between Gladiator, and Old School. I have a hard time choosing between comedy, and action. I would have to say that Gigli staring Ben Affleck, and J-lo is the least favorite movie of mine. In my opinion Gigli had a bad plot, bad acting, and was to long. I recently have seen the Client which was writer by John Grissim. The Client was originally a book, and like a lot of his work was great. The Client had a great plot, and incredible acting. Itââ¬â¢s easy to say Iââ¬â¢m a movie buff I love to rent movies and go to the theater as much as possible. I recently stop renting movies, because the late fees were killing me, so my thing now is to just by the new releases I like. It just makes sense if you consistently have late fees it is cheaper to just buy the movie. à à à à à My latest film experience was Shrek 2. Shrek 2 is a new release animation film. This is a great flick using the new state of the art animation. Shrek is not just a kidââ¬â¢s movie, but adults also find it funny. The movie is about an ogre named Shrek, who lives in a swamp. Shrek spent his whole life living in sham, because he was an ogre, and all the other creatures, and people felt threatened by him. Shrek meets a donkey played by Eddy Murphy, and they become friends. Later in the movie Shrek meets a beautiful princess named Fionia. Shrek, and Fionia fall in love, and go to ask for her father the king for his blessing in marriage. Instead they run into several problems the king does not approve of the marriage, and tries every thing in his power to separate them. The king opposed their marriage, because a princess can not marry an ogre, and live happily ever after... Shrek and Fionia are ugly green ogres who are constantly mistreated for their looks and race, but over come all the stereo types. Shrek teaches people not to judge other people by their race, color or looks. The movie has a great lesson to teach kids, but I know some adults that could benefit as well.
The Stoic Tradition Essay -- Philosophy Religion Essays
The Stoic Tradition In the approximate year of 320 B.C., one could be walking down the street with a high probability of passing a house where several men would be gathered out on the porch. It is likely that this was a gathering of individuals discussing philosophy. The gatherings became a more common occurrence, and since they would take place out on the porches, the school of philosophy derived from them takes its name from the Greek stoa, or porch. The ideology of that movement is henceforth known as Stoicism. Also, the Stoics have come to use the statement made by Socrates as the cornerstone of their judgments, being that "no harm can come to a good man." However, this concept is taken a bit further by the Stoics, as they deduce it to symbolize the eventually complete rejection of worldly things. These things they also deem "things which cannot be controlled." The current inquiry considers some of the chief notions of the Stoics, but more specifically it focuses upon one important question: what does it mean to follow nature for the Stoics? To answer this question, the testimonies of several of the Stoics are pooled and examined together in the end. Not only does this inquisition illustrate chief attributes of Stoicism, but those attributes are eventually evaluated in light of their coherence as well. One of the main ideas which form part of the answer as to what it means to follow nature for the Stoics is the following of an intended trajectory. As the oak tree strives to achieve its natural form of the best oak tree that it can become, it is upon its natural trajectory of reaching its potential. So too, borrowing from Aristotle, humans have the potential of becoming excellent in their own right through... ...become cattle. This position forms a contradiction between the endeavor to attain human excellence, become a noble being, and the want to give back. This position is, once again, not human. For one cannot become the best possible oak tree and at the same time reach the highest possible potential of a human being. One is either human, or a plant. Works Cited Aurelius, Marcus. ââ¬ÅIn the Heat of the Nightââ¬Â; Movie or Book? Essay
ââ¬Å"In The Heat of the Nightâ⬠is a gripping murder mystery story that incorporates a major issue of the time it was written at; racism. The original novel (published in 1965), written by John Ball, is a story of Virgil Tibbs, a Negro homicide investigator. The death of orchestra-conductor Enrico Mantoli and a series of other events lead up to him in charge of a murder investigation in Wells, Carolina. This is much to the dismay of Bill Gillespie, the extremely prejudice police chief. The movie version (released in 1967), also features Mr. Tibbs as the leader of a murder investigation. However, the setting is Sparta, Mississippi, and the victim is Philip Colbert, a man planning to build a factory in the town. The movie was very successful, and proceeded to win 5 Academy Awards. Despite this, I find the book is more appealing because the characters are easier to relate to, and have a chance to get well-rounded in a gradual sense. In addition, the plot development steadily makes progress, and is overall less tense, therefore more enjoyable. Both movie and book, however, are quite impressive in the incorporation of racial equality issues, and should equally be recognized as landmarks in American media for this reason. The most prominent change in characters is the personality of Virgil Tibbs. ââ¬Å"Instead of being stretched out on the bench, he was wide awake and sitting up straight as though he were expecting something to happen. His coat was off and laid neatly beside him. He had been reading a paperback book up to the moment Sam enteredâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Pg. 15) This is almost identical to the scene where we are introduced to Virgil in the movie. However, the quick-thinking, cold and intense version to be seen later on in the movie was very surprising. The humble, clever and cool homicide investigator from the novel is much preferred. His collected manners also make it all the more enjoyable when seeing Gillespieââ¬â¢s frustration at the Negroââ¬â¢s wits, and all the more heart warming as Sam Wood and Virgil Tibbs start to open up to one another. Also, the movie somewhat exaggerated on Mr. Endicott as being a ââ¬Å"bad guyâ⬠. From being somewhat a pest, however definitely not on anyoneââ¬â¢s ââ¬Ëbad booksââ¬â¢, too being a plantation owner who sends a group of thugs to beat up Virgil is just ludicrous. It seems he is used as an excuse to bring out another foe, another bit of action to make the movie more exciting. The subtle mystery of not knowing who is ââ¬Å"badâ⬠or ââ¬Å"goodâ⬠in the novel is a lot more satisfying, perhaps even more once you find out who the real murderer was. The movie, at a full running time of 109 minutes, has quite an exciting plot, with slow parts and exciting action parts. It incorporates many essential things to the original story of ââ¬ËIn the Heat of the Nightââ¬â¢, (such as the association with Delores Purdy) however it differs quite a bit as well. As mentioned above, the setting is in Sparta, Mississippi, where Philip Colbert, planning to build a factory in this town, is murdered. This change of plot on its own removes something that could be considered essential to the plot; romance. The budding relationship between Duena, Enrico Mantoliââ¬â¢s daughter (who doesnââ¬â¢t show up what so ever, seeing as Enrico Mantoli was not the victim) and Officer Sam Wood adds a bit of ââ¬Ëspiceââ¬â¢ that is lacking in the movie. On the topic of Sam Wood, his character being a relatively minor one sets a rather different way of looking at his character. In the book, the reader gets a closer glimpse on Sam Woodââ¬â¢s life, and gets to enjoy his personality and forgiving character more so then the movie. As a result of this, when Sam Wood is suspected of murder, we feel all the more protest and frustration for Gillespie to even dream of this possibility. The movie makes us feel bad for Sam, as it is pretty obvious he is not guilty if Virgil says he is not, but this emotion is lacking compared to the feelings the book inflicts. However, I do prefer the ending of the movie to the book. Instead of the gallant statements of how Bill Gillespie respects Virgil Tibbs as a human, are rather out-there, (if not heart-warming, I have to admitâ⬠¦) while the simple good-bye of the movie shows on its own how Gillespie has come to admire and respect Virgil. ââ¬ËIn the Heat of the Nightââ¬â¢, movie or book alike, is an inspiring tale of overcoming prejudice in the backward, racist town in the south- eastern United States. In both forms of media, we see from beginning to end the trials and prejudice thrown at Virgil Tibbs, solely because he is coloured. The inhuman way of dealing with racial hate is disgusting. Virgil Tibbs, however, is always cool and collected, and is an admirable character that will be remembered by everyone who reads or watches ââ¬ËIn the Heat of the Nightââ¬â¢. In being mocked for having a classy name such as ââ¬ËVirgilââ¬â¢, and asked what heââ¬â¢s called where he comes from, he responds with the famous line, ââ¬Å"They call me Mister Tibbs.â⬠(pg. 36) This line is present in both film and book, a demanding statement of racial equality that sticks in the readerââ¬â¢s mind. By comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences, it shows that the characters were more subtle and realistic than the movieââ¬â¢s stereotypical good guys and bad guys. Also, the plot of the book was better thought-out, and had many other enjoyable subplots that were lacking in the movie. Through his short stay in Wells, Carolina (or Sparta, Mississippi) Tibbs may not have altered the townââ¬â¢s views on discrimination against blacks, but John Ball left a definite strong imprint about social equality, and in doing so left more questions about human and social behaviour for the reader than simple answers.

Jane Eyre compares to The Eyre Affiar
The maln protagonist from both Jane Eyre and The Eyre Affair both deal with the struggles of achieving honest love with their respective love interest due to the unusual circumstances of the relationships. For Jane, her and Rochester's relationship is not normal in any sense of the word. For Thursday, the issues she has with Landen are much more realistic, but they sting just the same. Both Jane and Thursday have their fair share of Issues with their men, but some of them are not that far off from each other. Quite a few of their relationship problems are the same, however varying In some degree. The want to no longer love but know deep Inside you always will, the surprise wife that springs up out of nowhere, and a purposeful distancing because of differences in ideal. Both Jane and Thursday understand what it feels like to love even though you wish you didnt. For Jane, she has felt this way about Rochester a few times throughout the book. One of them is when Rochester leaves Thornfie ld for a few days on business. This where Jane starts to become confused about how she really felt about Rochester, what exactly does she want to happen between the two of them? l had not intended to love him; the reader knows I ad wrought hard to extirpate from my soul the germs of love there detected; and now, at the first renewed view of him, they spontaneously revived, great and strong! He made me love him without looking at meâ⬠(Bronte 128). This shows that the feeling are definitely there and, apparently, stronger than ever. This is an example of how Jane's feelings snuck up on her and that they are not what she Intended to happen at all. No matter how much she desires to not feel this way, It Is out of her control.Even though she may think that she is able to repress her feelings, they can never truly isappear, they may only be momentarily hidden. For Thursday, her feeling for Landen are there from when the book begins. She has her personal reasons for wishing that she no longer loved him. Whenever his name comes up, mostly by her family, she does her best to completely ignore it and quickly move past it. She hopes that the distance will take away her feelings but It only makes her heart grow fonder. During her first meeung with Landen, when she Is finally able to bring herself to look at him, her emotions hit her. The warmth and sensitivity I had once known so well as still there. I looked up at him, caught his gaze and looked away quickly. I had felt my eyes moisten. I was embarrassed by my feelings and scratched my nose nervouslyâ⬠(Fforde 114). Without warning, they come back and she does he best to try and hide them. She doesnt want to show how she feels in hope that she will start to believe the Ile that she Is telling herself. It Is obvious that she does not want Landen to know that she still loves him, she wants to keep up the act that she is angry with him.She is fighting a losing battle on the inside that shows on the outside, evide nt by er eyes starting to tear up. Both Jane and Thursday know too well the feeling of love and wishing it away with little success. One thing that makes these two situations different is that Jane is allowed to feel however she wants, she Just thinks it would be better to hide It. Thursday on the other hand Is not allowing herself to feel the love tnat Dotn ner ana Landen Know sne nas. sne nas Dullt up tnls wall towards nlm, wanting to keep him out but still close enough.A rather surprising similarity between these two novels is that the concept of the surprise wife appearing in both. In Jane's case, Jane finds out on the day of her planned wedding to Rochester that he is actually a taken man. He is technically married to a woman by the name of Bertha who he keeps locked away in the attic because she is not fit to wander the manor. She mentally sick and unstable, prone to violent outburst, especially to Rochester. When Rochester reveals Bertha, he compares her to Jane. ââ¬Å"Compa re these clear eyes with the red balls yonder- this face with that mask- this form with that bulkâ⬠(Bronte 213).Rochester is basically calling Bertha a beast, trying to Justify his wrong actions. He is trying to reason his actions to Jane by saying Bertha should not even be considered a person worth making such a fuss over. His argument however is not the best, despite his true feelings for Jane, she can not look past it. For Thursday, the situation is a little more practical but actually hurts instead of shocks. During Thursdays second meet up with Landen, Right after they argue about the Crimea and her brother, Landen tries to end the fghting. Can we ever get over this Thursday? I need to know as a matter of urgency' (Fforde 188). This one line, seemingly somewhat unimportant, sets the hole scene for Daisy Mutlar, Landen's fiancà ©. This information is revealed later on when Thursday calls Landen, only to end up talking to Daisy. Right off the bat, Daisy seems like a nasty women whose only goal is to get married, and it doesn't really matter to who as made clear in her remark to Thursday: mfou listen. If you try anything at all to interfere with my happiness I'll wring your stupid little neck! â⬠(Fforde 214).Later on, Landen tries to Justify what he did by explaining to Thursday that he tried with her, but she made it clear to him that she couldn't let go of the past. It was time for him to move on with his life. For Jane and Thursday, this idea of the ââ¬Å"other womanâ⬠really hurts and send both of them on an emotional rollercoaster. The unexpectedness of the situation creates the shock value that simply adds fuel to the fire. However, a key difference to notice is that Rochester is completely in the wrong while Landen technically had every right to do what he did, whether he should have done it is a different question. He had no actual commitment to Thursday, she is the one who broke thing off and she is the one who constantly pushes hi m away. Everyone has that point where they are done and accept reality. To him, finally ending thinks for Thursday was the right thing to do because that's what he thought she wanted. Both Jane and Thursday come to a critical point in their relationships where they are faced with the choice to stay or walk away. Their desire to stay is overcome by the flood of hurt feelings along with the instinctive intuition that leaving is best. For Thursday, this conflict happens before the book actually starts. It is later revealed to the reader that Landen Parke- Laine is an ex-boyfriend that Thursday was very much in love with. Both of them fought in the Crimea, where Landen lost one of his legs and also Thursday. Thursdays brother, Anton, also fought but sadly didn't make it, along with practically all of the Light Armored Brigade. This tragedy of war was devastating and because there were few survivors; the story of what actually happened is unclear.Landen, nowever, 010 survive, ana accor01n g to nlm, tne reason tnat all tnose llves were lost that day was because of a mistake made by Anton. Because Landen was the only one able to make the report, his word became the truth. This is where the ten year long eparation started. Thursdays anger toward Landen is so powerful hat even after all this time, she still refused to look at him when she finally saw him again. ââ¬Å"We played like this for perhaps ten minutes, but I couldn't bring myself to look at him.I knew that if I did I would smile and I didn't want to do that. I wanted him to known I was still pissed off' (Fforde 114). Thursdays active attempts to show her anger shows Just how deeply what he did hurt her. It is clear that she still loves him but can't simply won't allow herself to. Thursday is pushing Landen away but is also holding on to the ope that he will stay. For Jane's situation, her and Rochester's critical moment is after Jane finds out about Bertha, a mentally ill women whom Rochester was tricked into m arrying and is still considered his wife. This is the last straw for Jane as she had previously put up with Rochester's harmless deceitful ways, but this time, it was too significant to overlook. Jane's anger stewed up inside her until she couldn't hold it any longer, and she and Rochester get into a heated argument the night Jane decides to leave. The argument reaches its climax when Jane pronounces, ââ¬Å"Mr. Rochester, I will not be yoursâ⬠(Bronte 227). It is here where Jane takes her final stand and factually states her view of the situation.A statement as clear and direct as this plainly conveys Jane's emotions, leaving no room for any other interpretation other than the one that it means, that she is done. She does not leave Rochester with any sense of hope that she still has the intention of being with him. The argument comes to a close and later that night, Jane leaves, without any notice. Both Jane and Thursday make this rash decisions but with every right to do so. T hey are extremely urt by what has happened to them and they can no longer bare to be around these men, so they remove themselves from the situation. It was an not an easy thing for either of them to do; leaving the one you love is not a happy experience, in any sense, but both of them knew it was what needed to be done. Love is only one of the things that these two women have to deal with throughout their stories, but it may be the most important. In both cases, the book ends with the evident marriage of the unusual couple, forgetting all the problems they had along the way. In the personal lives of these characters, love is what matters to them.No matter what they are experiencing on the outside, the subject still stays somewhere in their head, it never fully leaves. That is why happy endings tend to wrap up with the wedding that could be seen practically from the start. Jane and Thursday, though they both had great struggles with love, some of them not too different from each other , both managed to get what they wanted in the end, even though they spent so much time wishing they didn't want it. They were able to but all of the deceit in their relationships behind them and focus on the truth, that they are in love.
